All employees are required to take Safe Environment Training (SET) as outlined by the Diocese of Raleigh. Volunteers who work around children or teens who meet in our facilities are also required to have background checks and attend SET.
Persons who are required to take SET include: Religious Education Catechists, Parent Volunteers, Youth Leaders, Cub Scout & Boy Scout Leaders and parish office volunteers.
Safe Enviroment Trainings are scheduled primarily at the beginning of the school year and at other times depending on the need. Check the bulletin for times and dates. SET certifications are good for a period of five years. After five years, a recertification is required. -

…someone sends a photo or message that makes them feel
uncomfortable?

…they get separated from a parent while shopping or in a crowd?
Create personal safety plans through conversations and role playing with your children. Help them be ready for the times you will not be with them, and they will need to make important choices regarding their safety and the safety of others.

Crear planes de seguridad personal a través de conversaciones y juegos de rol con sus hijos. Ayúdelos a estar listos para las veces que no estará con ellos, y tendrán que tomar decisiones importantes con respecto a su seguridad y la seguridad de los demás.
