We understand the importance of training our children and youth “in the way they should go” (Proverbs 22:6), and we provide a variety of classes, programs, and opportunities for religious education at home, at church, and at a Catholic School. On this page you’ll find details about church-based programs for grades K–8, and you can access information about confirmations study on our Confirmation page. We also have a Homeschool page with materials for religious home-based learning.
Classes for the 2020-21 School Year began on Septemer 13, 2020. WE HAVE MADE THE DECISION TO BEGIN OUR CLASSES ONLINE. We will re-evalutate the end of December to determine if we can move to in-class learning in January. You must be a member of the parish to enroll your child. We offer religious education classes for elementary-aged children not enrolled In our catholic school. Registraton forms are available on this website. You may pay your child's registration fee by check or with a credit card online.
Families who are uncomfortable with in-class learning will have the option of using the online learning option for the entire school year. Please contact Diana Wake in the parish office.
First Penance (Confession) takes place every year in March. First Communion normally takes place in May. Two years prepartion are required for these sacraments. Students generally recieve First Communion in the Second Grade provided they begin preparation while they are the first grade. A copy of your child’s Baptismal certificate is required. If you have a child in the third grade or above who have not received their First Communion please let our sacrament coordinator, Diana Wake know, so your child can begin preparing to receive the sacrament. Dates for 2021 have not been decided.
Our volunteer catechists, catechist aides, substitutes, and youth ministry assistant/chaperones teach our faith and support our youth in their journey K–12. We need catechist assistants for this school year. It takes many volunteers to keep the youth education programs running smoothly. To learn more about what you can do, contact Diana Wake by phone at (910) 692.6613, ext. 224.
