St. Anthony of Padua Church. A multi-million dollar cost estimate for a new church building is one of several reasons Parish Pastoral Council has recommended that St. Anthony Church remain at its present Southern Pines town location for the foreseeable future. Along with the recommendation for the Church remaining where it is, Pastoral Council is proposing modifications to the current property that would connect the Church and the Parish Hall. This “connector” would address numerous needs and provide additional space to improve and facilitate parish activities while meeting the special needs of elderly and handicapped parishioners.
The proposed connector would include ramps from the parking lot to the Church and Parish Hall which would improve movement in and around those facilities. The additional space would include a welcoming narthex, a small adoration chapel, an area for the choir and organ, a library and nursery, a confessional and reconciliation room, handicap accessible restrooms, and a larger sacristy/vestry. The cost estimate for this proposed addition is $900,000. In the below document that you can view is the architectural rendering of a possible design for the connector.
All active parishioners are asked to complete a parish survey regarding the "Connection". In order to receive the link to fill out our online survey, please use the below form to request access.
